Our Travels

I love to travel and wish we had traveled a bit more before having our peanut but now she can join too! Rob and I have been to some great places and had such an amazing time. I created this page to share our experience with all of our trips. Below is a recap of our travels together starting with the most recent trip.

Two Year Anniversary, September 2010 – Montego Bay, Jamaica 

Five nights, six days at Secrets St. James All Inclusive Resort.

 Pros

  • Resort located 15 minutes from airport
  • Great selection of dinning and bars
  • Beautiful beach and pools
  • Great room and view of ocean
  • New resort
  • Friendly staff
  • Kayaking/snorkeling included
  • Use of pool and amenities at neighbor resort, Wild Orchid
  • Lots of activities available outside of resort
  • Good nightlife entertainment at piano bar

Cons

  • September = rainy season (rained a few times but not for too long)
  • Had issues with the safe in our room not working and staff was slow to fix it

Western Trip, April 2010 – Las Vegas, Nevada & Temecula, California

Three nights, two days at The Venetian Las Vegas, two nights in Temecula California

Pros

  • Beautiful hotel
  • Ample supply of gambling
  • Great site seeing
  • Great people watching

Cons

  • Windy and cold in Vegas!
  • Very expensive
  • Loooong flight that got in super late and hotel was not accommodating

Wine Tasting Weekend, June 2009 – Seneca Lake, New York

One night, two days at The Inn At Glenora Wine Cellars

Pros

  • Beautiful hotel and scenery
  • Great selection and variety of wineries
  • Cute downtown area
  • Great view of the lake from most wineries

Cons

  • Three and a half  hour drive  (from current house at the time)

Day Trip to the City, December, 2009 – New York City

Day spent in Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Central Park, and Little Italy

Pros

  • Holiday season décor everywhere!
  • Tree in Rockefeller Center
  • Great people watching
  • Great mini zoo in Central Park
  • Great site seeing
  • Great Italian dinner in Little Italy

Cons

  • Day trip = loooong day of traveling and walking

Honeymoon, September, 2008 – Antigua

Nine nights, ten days at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa

Pros

  • Amazing all-inclusive resort!
  • Great dinning and bar selection
  • Amazing beach
  • Beautiful grounds
  • Friendly staff
  • Short distance from airport
  • Kayaking/snorkeling included
  • Use of both old side and new side of resort

Cons

  • We stayed at the “older” side of the resort so our room wasn’t updated
  • No snacks/light meals available in between main meals
  • Beach area was somewhat small and limited for walking
  • Lacked nightlife/entertainment

Bed & Breakfast Weekend, October, 2006 – Manchester, Vermont

One night, two days at The Inn At Manchester

Pros

  • Beautiful Inn with friendly staff
  • Very quant room
  • Close distance to downtown shopping and restaurants
  • Great view of the mountains
  • Delicious breakfast

Cons

  • None
